What is this court case all about?
Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association (HJTA), Building Owners and Management Association (BOMA), California Business Roundtable, and California Business Properties Association have filed a lawsuit. They’ve blocked our vote passing Prop C last June, and halted needed funds to increase families’ access to child care, and raise compensation of child care educators.
The ruling in this case will significantly change our ability to access critically needed community resources.
July 3 is the initial (summary) judgment. There will be additional hearing(s) in October. It is very important that we have a strong showing of citizens on July 3, to show the judge and city leadership that we will fight to defend our families’ rights to quality, affordable child care in San Francisco.
