Anna Yohannes
Anna received a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a Minor in Politics from San Francisco State University and holds a Child Development Certificate in Infant/Toddler Care. She fell in love with preschool teaching while working abroad at an international preschool in 2014. Since then, she has taught in both private and public, big and small childcare sites across San Francisco and studied to earn a CA Child Development Program Director Permit.
As an early learning advocate, Anna enjoys engaging with the field as a board member for the East Bay Chapter of CAAEYC, a member of San Francisco Educators for Equity, and an appointed member of the SF African American Early Educator Policy Council. She has been a leader for the Bay Area Network for Diversity Training in Early Childhood (BANDTEC) since 2018 providing trainings and peer-to-peer support, as well as creating an educator-led podcast series titled “Lesson Up!”. Anna is the Program Manager at Early Care Educators of San Francisco (ECESF), a non-profit dedicated to bringing the voice of ECE educators to the broader community, leaders, policymakers, allies and fellow providers to affect change.
