Senior Manager of Black & BIPOC Early Childhood Education Achievement
Venus has been at Children’s Council of San Francisco for 22 years. She started out as an Nutrition assistant intern in the Health & Nutrition department in March 2001 and was officially hired in May of that year as a Food Program Monitor (later renamed to Health & Nutrition Specialist). During her time on the Health and Nutrition team, Venus was pivotal in the success of several key initiatives and programs including Nutrition Night, Growing Healthy Kids, Family Meal Pass and Fun Food Fitness Fridays all while also supporting family child care providers citywide in serving healthy and nutritious meals to the children in their programs.
In 2021, Venus joined the Black ECE Achievement team as the Black ECE Coordinator helping to improve and increase the presence and visibility of Black ECE educators in San Francisco. She stepped into a leadership role wholeheartedly to build and champion our first-ever pipeline for Black early educators.
