As soon as young children can understand, it isimportant to begin teaching children skills for staying in charge of their behavior while understanding that they need adult supervision to stay safe – and they need ongoing guidance to learn how to act safely. You will leave this program with skills and strategies to:

Notice problems when they are small, beforethey reach the explosion point.

Teach children how to recognize and managethe feelings and actions that lead to unsafebehavior.

Use practice as a natural consequence ofmaking unsafe choices.

Create a plan for how to prevent and handleoutbursts.

Be powerful and respectful when taking charge of an out-of-control child.
