Chanelle Brown serves as Policy Council Manager at the Children’s Council of San Francisco, where she oversees the Black Early Educators Policy Council. With 14 years of experience working at the intersections of policy, communications and advocacy, Chanelle is passionate about activating coalitions and empowering children and families.

Chanelle has provided communications counsel and technical assistance to dozens of non-profit organizations in the ECE and maternal/infant health space. She also led research and policy for a global policy think tank and served as a communications staffer for elected officials in the Los Angeles City Council and New York State Legislature.

Chanelle is a proud alum of Howard University with a B.A. in Telecommunications Management. After having different stints working on the East Coast, in the Southern region of the US, and abroad, she is happy to call Northern California home again. She is an avid travel enthusiast, community-builder and loves exploring new food and cultural venues in her “local backyard.”
