Jennie Kong
Training Manager (Program Supports)
Jennie brings over 15 years of experience working with young children, their families and pre-service teachers in San Francisco. Jennie started her career in early education in the classroom and has worked in various early education settings and roles in a university based lab school and the private and non-profit sector. At the lab school, Jennie mentored pre-service teachers on best practices and building relationships with children and their families as both a classroom teacher and associate director. At Children’s Council, Jennie continues her passion in education by being part of her department’s training team.
Jennie believes high quality early education is a right for all children. She is also passionate about early educators earning a living wage to ensure they can live where they work. Transitioning from the classroom to Children’s Council has made it possible for Jennie to support children, families and the early education field on a greater scale.
Jennie earned a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a minor in Asian American Studies and a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from San Francisco State University.
A San Francisco native, Jennie enjoys spending time with her family, trying new restaurants and exploring the outdoors.
