Lorita Yip joined Children’s Council in 2019 with a decade of experience working in the early childhood field. Prior to her tenure at Children’s Council, Lorita worked at a lab school at San Francisco State University, mentoring pre-service teachers on best practices and relationship building with children in the classroom. Through her mentoring work, Lorita discovered a passion for working with adult learners. She continues to nurture that passion by leading the training team for her department.

Lorita believes that all children should have access to high quality care and education. Her shift from the classroom to an administrative role at Children’s Council has allowed her to continue making an impact while supporting the early childhood education field on a larger scale.

Lorita earned a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development and a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from San Francisco State University.

In her free time, Lorita enjoys spending time with family, trying new food and traveling.
